Saskatchewan Watershed Authority – Rafferty
Passing on a letter we have received. Contact information at the end for anyone with questions.
Attention branches,We were contacted by the Saskatchewan Watershed Authority today advising us that SWA will begin releasing water from Rafferty Reservoir on Monday, March 1st, in preparation for the spring runoff. They expect to slowly ramp up releases to 10 cubic metres per second and drop the water level by approximately 0.5 metres (20 inches). SWA has forecast above average runoff for the Souris River basin this spring. Please be advised that ice conditions on the reservoir and on the Souris river downstream of the reservoir may become unsafe. Please pass the word on to your branch members and other anglers in the area. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me at Central Office, or you can contact Clint Molde of SWA at 848-2347.Adam MatichukFisheries Project CoordinatorPhone: (306) 692-8812Fax: (306) 692-4370Saskatchewan Wildlife Federation9 Lancaster RoadMoose Jaw, SK S6J 1M8
